Flow Chemistry
Providing Safe, Efficient, and Economical Drug Manufacturing
The Porton Continuous Reaction
Technology Platform boasts ton-scale continuous reaction production
capabilities and is equipped with dedicated GMP-compliant workshops. The
platform covers a wide range of reaction types, extending from traditional hazardous
reactions such as nitration, diazotization, and ozonolysis, to advanced
processes including lithiation, Grignard addition, catalytic hydrogenation, and
substitution reactions. Focused on enhancing efficiency and reducing costs,
Porton leverages innovative, efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly
continuous reaction solutions to accelerate the commercialization of new drugs.
This commitment drives industry development and progress, ensuring that
effective medications reach the public sooner.
R&D
Porton's dedicated continuous reaction laboratory at the Minhang R&D Center in Shanghai can undertake the development work to convert various types of reactions from batch to continuous mode, as well as screen and optimize continuous reaction process parameters. It is also capable of kilogram-scale production. The R&D laboratory currently houses various types of continuous reactors, including microchannel reactors and continuous photochemistry reactor and continuous hydrogenation reactor, coil reactors made of different materials, small continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTRs), and various independent operational units such as different types of pumps, recirculating temperature control baths, and backpressure valves.
Production
Chongqing Changshou Manufacturing Site can undertake the technology transfer, pilot verification, and commercial-scale production of continuous reaction processes. We have already completed several R&D and production projects involving continuous reactions, such as nitration, ozonolysis, azidation, butyllithium reactions, and Grignard reagent reactions. In addition to reactions, Porton has also successfully established continuous post-processing capabilities for continuous extraction, quenching, and liquid-liquid separation.
Continuously enriching our R&D and production equipment inventory for continuous production (to meet project flexibility and versatility needs): tubular reactors, continuous stirred-tank reactors (CSTRs), Flow rate control modules by PLC, temperature control units (TCUs), ovens, ozone generators, and more.
Handling highly hazardous, highly polluting, and fast reaction rate processes.
Reactions requiring precise control of reaction time and timely quenching.
Committed to enhancing the inherent safety of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Using multiple independent modular units to assemble production lines, meeting project needs for flexibility and versatility.
Regular and commercial projects utilize fixed integrated units.
Making synthetic route design more flexible and selective.
